Why you should care about the structure of your post or article?

The outline that you prepare for your post, article or copy - check (Part 1) - might be informative and covering the subject perfectly, however, there is nothing attractive about it. Structure is a must to bring some life to your piece. It’s like a giftwrap or a giftbox, that will make your article looks pretty and interesting to your readers.

You have to work hard on each of the structure elements to make your visitors go on reading your article without losing interest at any point.

Make them always feel there is something next that is worth of reading, starting from the headline and till the end of the article.

That’s how a good structure works:

1- Compelling headline

The headline or title of your post is the first impression your visitors get. It should succeed in grabbing their attention in a way that encourages them to start reading your post.

Whatever great content your post contains, it’s an important thing to spend enough time and effort thinking about how to make your headline catchy. Keep in mind that your visitors can detect spammy headlines and avoid reading the whole thing, so what? Don’t Spam!

2- Opening paragraph (Get your readers engaged)

This is probably the most challenging thing to write in your article. Focus mainly on your visitors, what they are expecting from reading your article. Offer them a snapshot of what they are going to find. Your words should be friendly, promising and persuasive so they will continue to read your post.

Remember, it’s a snapshot! Don’t make it too lengthy.

3- Core (Authoritative content)

That’s what your readers are here for. The GIFT!

It’s essential to build a sense of trust and credibility with your readers which is partially dependent on how much you succeed in reflecting your expertise and converting your knowledge and passion into valuable content. You should succeed in delivering what you promised them in your opening paragraph.

You are ready for that!

That’s the part to include all information that you came up with while preparing the outline of your article, it’s supposed to be already well ogranised, so, all what you have to do now is to use subheadings, review your words, replace any inappropriate words or phrases with another ones that sound better, expressing your passion and interesting to your readers.

4- Closing Paragraph (Leaving an impression OR Driving a desired action)

This is your last chance to leave an impression on your readers, you should get back and close your opening paragraph by summarizing and reinforcing the main points for your readers, and showing how you have provided them with valuable information or effective solutions.

If you aim for some action from your readers; leaving comments, visiting a link, pressing a BUY button or whatever, don’t push them to take any, It makes all the difference when they feel that it’s their own choice.

Here you are, the gift is ready and well wrapped!
